We recently received our first Reel subscription delivery. And so far, they are living up to expectations. In this order, we received Reel paper towels and the Reel Toilet paper. Note: for this order, we did get the Little Lemurs toilet paper, which was fun for our little one, as it comes with a book and fun packaging for kids.
The Little Lemur's packaging was a fun activity for our little one. This was a one-time add-on for our toilet paper subscription (slightly more expensive by a few follars), but we figured we'd try it.
Each Reel toilet paper roll is wrapped in paper, which is SO great to eliminate that single-use plastic.
Pros:
· No plastic
· Made from bamboo sourced sustainably
· They work well
· Each one is wrapped in paper
· No inks, no dyes
· No BPA
· Biodegradable and septic safe
Toilet Paper Cons:
· $$$
· Not quite at soft as Kirkland
Overall, we love the Reel toilet paper. The biggest downside is the cost. My Costco comparison is $23.49 for 30 rolls, and the Reel toilet paper subscription price runs at $36.99 for 24 rolls. You can also get 48 rolls for $69.99. And, they aren’t quite as soft as the Kirkland brand, but compared to other TP I’ve used, they still fall in the softer range - and what's more is they passed the hubbie test.
I asked my Hubbie and here’s his response:
Hubbie Review:
“Yes, they work well” and “I like that they come in paper.”
Considering it is very difficult to get a response from my husband with regards to items around the house, I was truly shocked (shook?) that he provided this answer! And I concur.
So overall, we give the Reel products 4.5/5 stars! The only downside at this point is cost.
Laura Approved!
Update- we've used the toilet paper for a couple weeks now, and it is not as soft as we would like. Thus, we are lowering our review to 3.8/5.
See you next time –
Laura
